Link your VRS chip card in the nextbike app. Open the Wallet and select “VRS chip card holder” and enter your chip card number and age. Now verify your chip card once by using it as a rental medium at least for the first rental. You’ll then get 30 minutes of free cycling for this and subsequent rentals.

Got a new chip card?

Delete your existing link in the Wallet of your nextbike app and repeat the linking process with your new chip card. Then, for the next rental, use the new chip card and hold it against the sensor on the rear wheel to link the new card to your customer account.

Register via the app or website using your university/college email address. A confirmation link will be sent to your email address, and activation will occur automatically after verification.

Already registered with nextbike, but not with your university email address? Enter your university email address in your customer account and confirm the link sent to this address.

Every rental in these systems is discounted. The applicable VRS basic tariffs for Welo can be found under tariffs. The applicable basic tariffs for the other systems can be found on the corresponding websites.

The first 30 minutes are included with every rental in this system. If you exceed the free minutes, each additional 15 minutes costs €1. The maximum charge for 24 hours is €9. Any return surcharges apply regardless of the free minutes. If you rent multiple bikes at the same time, the discount only applies to the first bike. Additional bikes are charged at the local base rate.
